In 2020, the national wealth of the Azerbaijani people, Icheri Sheher, together with the Shirvanshahs palace complex and the Maiden Tower, will mark the 20th anniversary of inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In this regard, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev issued an order according to which the Department of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icheri Sheher” in cooperation with the Baku City Administration, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan will develop and implement an action plan to celebrate the 20th the anniversary of the inclusion of Icherisheher on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
