Azerbaijan and Iran have reached an agreement on the construction of a new road bridge on the state border of the two countries, which will connect the Baku-Astara highway with the Erdebil-Astara-Rasht highway. This was announced by the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Mohammad Islami.
“We discussed the construction of a new road transport terminal on the border near Astara because the old terminal does not have the necessary potential. Therefore, we also reached an agreement on the construction of a new road bridge on the border, which will connect the Baku-Astara highway with the Erdebil-Astara-Rasht highway. An agreement on this will be signed in Astara this month, and a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new terminal and a bridge will be held” he said.
