Construction of a highway to Shusha has begun

Immediately after the ceremony of laying the foundation of a new road to Shusha, held on November 16 during the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, to Fizuli and Jabrayil, the project was launched.
According to the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, the length of the Ahmedbeyli-Fizuli-Shusha highway will be 101.5 km, the width of the road – 37.7 m.
The main part of the new highway will consist of 4 lanes 21.5 m wide. In addition, the project provides for the construction of 1 reserve lane in each direction. It is planned that the road, together with the reserve lanes, will consist of 6 lanes. The road will cover more than 20 settlements in the indicated regions, including the cities of Fizuli and Shusha.
