Azerbaijan and Japan will make joint efforts to strengthen cooperation in tourism. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Azerbaijani Ambassador to Japan Gyursel Ismayilzade and President of the Japan Association of Travel Agencies (JATA) Tadashi Shimura.
During the meeting, Ismayilzade spoke about the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Japan in the political, economic and tourism spheres, stressing the great potential of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism. According to him, 2.5 million tourists visited Azerbaijan in 2019, including more than 6,000 tourists from Japan.
The ambassador noted that a tourist infrastructure will be created in the territories liberated from the occupation and interesting tours in this direction will be organized for Japanese tourists.
