In the Zengilan region, a groundbreaking ceremony for an Zengilan International Airport with a runway length of 3 km was held. The event was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva.
“The construction of the second air harbor on the liberated lands has started. The construction of the Fuzuli international airport is progressing well, the runway of which will be commissioned this year. Thus, we will be able to receive the first planes in Fuzuli this year. The geographical position of the Zengilan region and the opportunities available here will naturally contribute to its transformation into a center of international transport logistics. It is no coincidence that the airport will be built exactly here” – noted Ilham Aliyev.
