In the fall of this year, it is planned to sign an Agreement on regional roaming for Eastern partner countries, which is supported by the EU4Digital initiative. The agreement provides for a reduction in roaming tariffs for the signatory countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) over the next few years. Thus, by the end of 2026, roaming charges for Eastern partner countries should be reduced by 87%.
During 2021, the ministers of the countries – signatories to the Agreement must amend the laws and regulations necessary to reduce the cost of roaming. And from the beginning of next year, the Agreement comes into force, which will allow Azerbaijanis to gradually pay less for mobile services in roaming.
