The first container train “TURKUAZ” arrived in Baku

The first container express train within the TURKUAZ project arrived in Baku. In a test train, in twenty one 45-foot containers, 588 tons of cargo from Turkey were delivered to our country. According to ADY Container LLC (subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC) the TURKUAZ container express train, a new logistics product developed jointly with partners from Turkey and Georgia, will carry out cargo transportation twice a week from Istanbul (from the Asian part) and Mersin to Baku and in the opposite direction. The travel time of the express block of the TURKUAZ train is 6 days. The regularity of the train carrying export-import goods from Turkey to Azerbaijan and vice versa will increase the volume of goods transported by the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, expand the capacity of this line and increase its competitiveness.
