The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad in January-September of this year due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic decreased 3.9 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1,073.4 thousand people.
According to the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee, 30.9% of the country’s citizens went to Iran, 27.7% to Georgia, 19.5% to Russia, 13.2% to Turkey and 8.7% to other countries.
“In January-September 2020, 76.7% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling abroad used railway and road transport, 20.8% – air and 2.5% – sea transport,” it was reported.
