The restoration of the walls of the Old City has begun

Several wall stones were scattered in parts of the walls of the Icheri Sheher castle in the direction of the Governor’s Garden. In this regard, the restoration of the walls of the fortress began, which symbolizes the Old City and reflects traces of history. Considering that the wall is 900 meters long and has been exposed to atmospheric precipitation and climatic conditions for many years, work on the monument will be carried out in stages. The process will proceed as planned. Restoration of all walls is planned in the coming years. In 2019, the portal of the Double Fortress Gate and part of the adjacent fortress wall were successfully restored.
The State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher” declares that all necessary measures will be taken to protect and preserve the ancient Icheri Sheher, a unique pearl of our national history and culture.
