The creation of a railway connection through Nakhchivan with other regions of Azerbaijan will increase the potential of Iran’s freight and passenger traffic to the North Caucasus and Europe.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammed Eslami said this at an event dedicated to the commissioning of the Tabriz-Sahand highway in the East Azerbaijan province.
According to him, this railway line is of great importance for Tehran.
