SOCAR tower

The construction is 209 m high and is notable for its smooth forms, symbolizing the moving stream of fire – the central idea of the skyscraper design in the style of structural expressionism.

The two-tower SOCAR Tower rises from an elongated, canopy-like podium and snake its way skywards. Curving into each other, the seemingly shorter tower almost looks like it’s resting its head on the chest of the taller tower. The taller tower’s peak is slightly bending over it in a confident, reassuring manner. The project is 209 meters tall and has 42 floors, covering an area of 12,000 square meters and providing 100,000 square meters of usage area. The headquarters mainly house office space and conference and sports facilities, a guest house, retail spaces, and food outlets.

SOCAR Tower design will be based on a composite system of steel construction with reinforced concrete walls.

The building is designed to be resistant to wind speeds of 190 kilometers per hour and a magnitude nine earthquake by the Richter scale.

The new administrative building of SOCAR Tower was recognized as the best office building in 2016 following the results of a competition held by the largest international magazine in the field of construction Engineering News Records (ENR).

And in 2017, the American Council of Engineering Companies awarded the new administrative building of SOCAR – the highest National Recognition Award in the engineering achievement competition.
