First Deputy Minister of Culture, Acting Minister Anar Kerimov held an online meeting with the Director-General of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO) Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik.
A. Kerimov noted that as a result of the occupation of the Karabakh region, a number of cities were completely destroyed, all cultural values were plundered, historical monuments and cultural institutions were barbarously destroyed, and mosques were desecrated. Kerimov added that the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan has prepared a special action plan to revive the cultural environment in the liberated territories, restore monuments, museums and various cultural institutions.
In turn, Salim bin Mohammed al-Malik noted that from the first days ISESCO expressed its full support to Azerbaijan and noted that it is a partner in developing a joint work plan for cooperation in this area. He also said that ISESCO experts are ready to organize a research visit to these territories.
